Sunday, January 4, 2009 - Game Review Meeting

Notes:
Each member present received chapters 7 and 8 of the competition manual;
6 balls were brought in and members interacted with the balls, trailers, and baskets;
we reviewed the game rules and discussed possible/max scoring opportunities;
this is our understanding so far:

• perfect score = 360 ((120 cells x 2pts) + (8 super cells x 15 pts));
• takes 8 moon rocks to = 1 scored super cell; no bonus points during autonomous;
• increasing opposing alliance's score (without losing) is good a goal (helps our ranking points)

Next Steps
each team member is to review the entire manual (esp chapters 6,7,8, & 9) before Tuesday's meeting; at the meeting, we will brainstorm on game strategy, then focus on the robot (identify design criteria and constraints, followed by brainstorming design ideas); some administrative issues will be addressed at 4:30; initial brainstorming begins promptly at 5:00.
